PENNANT NEWS – ROUND 5

Pennant Update – Round 5 .

Men’s Pennant Team

The Men’s team traveled to Patterson River to take on Gisborne. A bleak Sunday morning made conditions challenging, with the team starting off slowly. With the passing weather then came the birdies and the team was able to stamp their authority to all the matches winning 6&1.

Scores: Jack Harrison W4&3, Lachlan Kenny W4&3, Harry Whykes W5&3, Brett Greenough W5&4, Matt Himbury W3&1, Tommy Lakic W3&1. Matt Marsh was very unlucky to lose on the 19th. This leaves the SR Men’s Pennant team sitting in 2nd position on the ladder, behind Keysborough on percentage.

Round 6 – Sunday 10 April: Settlers Run will be hosting Men’s & Youth Division 4 Pennant. We do not have a team in Youth Pennant this year, but 6 other teams will tee off from 7:45am.

The SR Men’s team will be teeing off on 1st Tee at 11:15am against Patterson River.

We encourage all members to come along and support the team, but we ask that you please keep your carts at a distance from play as we need to allow play to flow.

We would also like to invite members to come along on Sunday morning and have breakfast with the team which starts at 9.00am.

 Ladies Pennant Team

The Ladies traveled to Spring Valley last Sunday to take on Kingston Heath. Not all games went our way playing the top team, with SR Ladies losing 2/5. Winners on the day were: Playing # 1 Danika Coyne W6/4 and Playing # 7 Grace Hallinan W8/7. Losses went to #2 Elly Briggs 3/1, #3 Georgia Macklan 19th hole, #4 Michelle Cuddihy 4/3, #5 Amelia Goodwin 5/4 & #6 Tracey Wilson 6/5.

This leaves the team sitting 5th on the ladder, which is a great effort by them all.

Round 6 – Sunday 10th April the team will be playing at Keysborough and taking on Heidelberg who are sitting just behind SR. Tee off is from the 10th Tee at 8:50am. This is an important game for the team, as we have to get the win to guarantee we stay in DIV 2 for 2023. Play well Ladies.
